Oliver Prosser

Profile

Creative and driven PhD student in the second year of a BBSRC funded four-year programme focusing on development of novel antiviral agents and interrogation of RNA structures in emerging arboviruses. Looking to gain further knowledge and skills in product development, science commercialisation and technological innovation. I have a deep interest in new research developments and how we can translate scientific discoveries into new and exciting technologies.

Research interests

Research interests include: RNA structures in emerging arboviruses such as Zika virus and chikungunya virus. My main area of interest is the exploitation of RNA virus secondary structures as antiviral targets.
I have a keen interest in developing industry links to help develop my scientific discoveries into useful research tools and antiviral agents.
Research skills include: Handling of biosafety level 2 and 3 pathogens, RNA SHAPE chemistry, surface plasmon resonance, molecular cloning, handling of open source radiation.
