Profile

As the R&I Development Manager in the Faculty of Biological Sciences I work closely with academics to identify funding opportunities tailored to their research focus and needs. I work directly with academics to support and develop high quality research grant applications and business development proposals. I interact with R&I staff from across the University to seek and support inter-disciplinary interactions and with Commercial Services to explore opportunities for commercialisation of intellectual property deriving from the faculty. 

Prior to joining the University of Leeds I was a Principal Scientist and Project Director for an international pharmaceutical company. I have extensive experience of the drug discovery and development process, from target identification through to identification of candidate drugs for progression into preclinical safety studies and phase I clinical trials. My expertise in drug discovery and development spans a wide range of diseases including chronic pain, cancer, autoimmune diseases, allergic disorders and hypertension.
