Dr Beatrice Bretherton

Profile

I am currently working as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Leeds investigating the effects of non-invasive electrical stimulation of the vagus nerve on autonomic function, mood and quality of life in volunteers aged 55 years and older. I am also doing postdoctoral work with the pain and research teams at Seacroft Hospital (Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust). Prior to these appointments, I obtained my PhD from the University of Leeds in 2018 which investigated the effects of music and non-invasive stimulation of the vagus nerve on autonomic function and emotion.
