Pint of Science Leeds

Join researchers from the Faculty of Biological Sciences as the world-wide science festival comes to Leeds between 13-15 May.

Pint of Science is an annual festival which transforms local spaces, such as pubs and cafes, into knowledge goldmines.

And between 13-15 May, it will come to pubs in Leeds!

Pint of Science is all about providing spaces for researchers and members of the public alike to come together, be curious, and chat about research in a relaxed environment outside of mysterious laboratories or daunting dark lecture theatres.

Izzie Gibson, co-lead of Pint of Science Leeds, Faculty of Biological Sciences

This year, Leeds will host 14 events across Leeds covering topics from viral visions and cancer cures to the effects of climate change and complexities of human behaviour.

The events fall into 6 key themes; Atoms to Galaxies, Beautiful Mind, Our Body, Planet Earth, Our Society and Creative Reactions.

For the first time, there will also an event dedicated to the culmination of art and science.

This year we are particularly excited as our team have put together the first ever ‘Creative Reactions’ event in Leeds. This theme brings art and science together in one event, showing that all research can harmonise together.

Kasia Hammond, co-lead of Pint of Science Leeds, Faculty of Biological Sciences and Medicine.
