Sophie Saunders

Profile

I graduated from the University of Leeds in 2016 with a First in Biochemistry. Following this, I was employed as a Research Technician in the Tomlinson group in which I provided support to ongoing research projects characterising Affimer proteins against a range of targets using methods such as enzymatic assays, phage ELISA’s and bacterial growth assays.

I am now a PhD student in the Tomlinson group funded by a Leeds Doctoral Scholarship. My research is focused on developing Affimer proteins for studying MAPK signalling in cancer by targeting Sos. I use nucleotide exchange assays, cell culture and X-Ray crystallography to study how the Affimer proteins regulate Sos.
