- Thesis title: The molecular pathogenesis of autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease
- Supervisor: Dr Joe Cockburn, Professor Colin Johnson
Profile
After graduating from the University of Leicester in 2021, with a BSc in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry), I moved to the University of Leeds to study MSc Molecular Medicine. I stayed in Leeds to undertake a Kidney Reseach UK funded PhD in structural biology.
I am currently based in the Astbury Centre for Structural Biology.
Research interests
My current work is focused on characterising the main product of the autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease (ARPKD) disease gene, fibrocystin, using structural and computational approaches. I will use crystallographic techniques to resolve a protein structure which will be useful in identifying disease mechanisms and possibly therapeutic interventions.
