Profile

My academic background began with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree from the Faculty of Biology, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Since 2013, I have been a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Technology, at Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar, Indonesia, focusing on ecological genetics, molecular and conservation biology.

My research approach integrates fieldwork, laboratory-based molecular techniques, and computational software tools to process complex biological data. I have also led several research initiatives funded by the Indonesian government, exploring the genetic diversity of local endemic species.

Currently, I am a PhD student in the School of Biology, Faculty of Biological Sciences, University of Leeds, funded by the Beasiswa Indonesia Bangkit (BIB) scholarship from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Indonesia. My project focuses on utilising eDNA metabarcoding to understand species interactions and their spatiotemporal variations across marine and terrestrial ecosystems. This work aims to drive impactful biodiversity monitoring and conservation efforts, with a particular focus on targeting endemic species within the tropical rainforest ecosystems of Sulawesi, Indonesia.
