Profile

I am a PhD student at the University of Leeds supervised by Dr Josie South and Dr Elizabeth Duncan. My project focusses on quantifying and predicting the ecological impact of invasive crayfish on macroinvertebrate communities across differnt spatial, temporal, environmental, and evolutionary contexts.

Prior to starting my PhD, I worked as an Environmental Monitoring Officer (freshwater ecologist) for the Environment Agency (2023 – 2024) and completed a BSc (Hons) in Ecology (with a Year in Industry) at the University of York (2019 – 2023). My year in industry was completed at Bristol Zoological Society where I worked in the Field Science and Conservation department.

Research interests

I am interested in the spatial, temporal, environmental, and biotic factors that drive the magnitude of crayfish impacts - from individual- to ecosystem-level impacts – and using this information to facilitate predictions about when, where, and which crayfish species will become damaging.
