Research interests

  • The central cholinergic system of the mammalian brain
  • Characterisation of some unusual members of the Rhizaria (Foraminifera, Cercozoa, Gromia) and the Alveolata (dinoflagellata) that inhabit the coastal areas, freshwater lochs and bogs of north west Scotland

  • 1978: PhD in Neuroscience, Churchill College, Cambridge University.
  • 2017: BSc. (Honours, Open, Class II/I) on topics in theoretical physics, Open University.
