Profile
I am the Head Team Physician for Purdue University Athletics. I hail from Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Miami University Summa Cum Laude with Honors. I completed medical school and a PM&R residency at the University of Virginia while being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society. I completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Utah and worked at the Cleveland Clinic for 7 years prior to assuming my current role at Purdue. I was a member of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) COVID-19 Medical Advisory Group and am a team physician for the United States Soccer U-20 Women’s National Team.
In addition, I have worked in various settings including; Medical Director for Big Ten Softball Championships, Big Ten Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship, Big Ten Women’s Tennis Championship, Big Ten Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship, Big Ten Diving Championships and NCAA Men’s Golf Regional Championships.
I was Covering Physician for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Tennis Tournament, Host Physician for the Horizon League Tennis Championships, and Primary Care Team Physician for Notre Dame College, Division II, Head Team Physician for Aurora High School and Assistant Team Physician for Orange High School and Covid 19 Health Officer for NCAA Men’s Basketball.
I covered FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup – Cali and Bogota in Columbia, Domestic Training Camp in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and Nike International Friendlies, France vs China at Lakewood Ranch, FL.
I completed a rotation at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Training Center providing coverage and on-call responsibilities for wheelchair basketball, boxing, para-cycling/triathlon, wrestling.
My extensive committee involvement within collegiate sports in the United States as well as within the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) has allowed me to make an impact on education, research, and patient care on a national and international level. Research interests
My research interests include mental health, sleep, and iron deficiency in college athletes as well as gender and racial diversity in sports medicine physicians. I am the current President of AMSSM and mother to two children ages 12 and 11.
