Profile
I received PhD degree in Neuroscience in my hometown, Istanbul and studied neural mechanisms of feeding behaviour. During my PhD training, I was involved in research relating to electrophysiological characterisation of neuronal networks to understand synaptic and circuit mechanisms of hypothalamic neurons in health and disease. Following on from my PhD I moved to Edinburgh and I was involved in a circuit mapping project characterising a novel pathway between medial entorhinal cortex and hippocampus. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher in Leeds and investigating how olfactory bulb circuits are regulated by metabolic signals and the role of these molecules on olfactory perception.
