Profile
I completed my PhD at the University of St Andrews under the supervison of Professor Gareth Miles, investigating purinergic and cholinergic modulation of spinal circuits for walking. This was followed by a postdoctoral position with Professor Keith Sillar, looking at the effect of dopamine receptor activation during development on zebrafish swimming behaviour. I then went on to a second post-doctoral position at the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre, UCL, under the supervison of Dr Andrew Murray, investigating neural circuits for posture control.
Research interests
I study neural circuits for walking and balance. I am particularly interested in how these circuits are able to adapt to the biomechanical demands of a wide range of motor tasks in different environmental contexts.
