Leeds among world’s top universities in latest QS rankings

The University of Leeds has held its position in the top 100 of the QS World University Rankings for the eighth successive year.

Ranked 86th out of more than 8,400 institutions worldwide, Leeds continues to demonstrate excellence across research, teaching and global engagement. 

The QS rankings assess institutions across a broad range of criteria, including research and discovery, employability and outcomes, learning experience, global engagement and sustainability.

Recognising our international strength

A particular highlight in this year’s results is the University’s rise to 13th in the world for the International Research Network, moving up one place from last year. 

This achievement indicates the University’s strength in fostering impactful global collaborations and places Leeds among the top institutions worldwide for international research partnerships.

Professor Hai-Sui Yu, Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor, said:

“Our world-class research and teaching expertise at the University of Leeds has again been recognised with a place in the top 100 global universities.  

“Our global reputation attracts students from around the world. Leeds is a truly multicultural campus with more than 11,600 international students from 146 countries, living and studying in a student-friendly city. 

“Our staff are also a truly international part of the University community and come from 116 different countries – some 35% of our academic colleagues are from overseas and 20% of our overall staff population.”
