Bio-imaging and Flow Cytometry

Our facility has a range of light microscopes to cater for a large variety of applications. These range from widefield fluorescent systems and confocal microscopes through to super-resolution systems.

We have the capability to image both fixed and live samples to facilitate the investigation of a wide range of biological questions.

Confocal Microscopy

Confocal laser scanning microscopes utilises a pinhole to block out-of-focus light and improve image resolution.

Our high-end systems are capable of 2D and 3D imaging of fixed and live samples.  We offer and range of confocal microscope of suite a variety of sample types.

Our LSM800 confocal microscope has been customised to enable imaging of samples in the vertical orientation.

Image Analysis

The facility has 3 dedicated image analysis stations giving access to a range of software including; Imaris, Huygens, Arrivis, Zen, ImSpector, ImageJ/FIJI, ICY.
