Professor Eric Blair
Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology

Understanding the role of viruses such as Human papillomaviruses in the development of skin and throat cancers

Dr Andrew Macdonald
Associate Professor in Virology

Viruses cause ~15% of all human cancers. Two of these viruses, HPV and Merkel cell polyomavirus are the focus of our studies. We use a multidisciplinary approach to understand how these viruses infect cells and cause transformation with the ultimate goal of developing novel therapeutics to treat virus-associated cancers

Professor Adrian Whitehouse
Professor of Molecular Virology

Host pathogen interactions required for virus-induced tumourigenesis
