Capstone and Research Projects
Research Projects
Research projects are typically a large scale task you will be presented with in your final year and designed to equip you with the experience necessary for a career in research.
These projects can be composed of laboratory-based experiments, fieldwork or critical review.
Examples of recent research projects include:
- Upregulating Kv4.2 ion channel complexes: a novel therapeutic strategy for dementia.
- Rapid point-of-care tests for disease diagnosis or management.
- The impact of pregnancy and the postpartum period on family lifestyle behaviours and health.
You are expected to take complete ownership of your project, employing the skills you have accrued throughout the previous years of your degree. At the University of Leeds, projects are completed under the supervision of leading experts in the relevant fields.
