Yorkshire Bioscience Doctoral Training Partnership

The Yorkshire Bioscience Doctoral Training Partnership (YBDTP) is a Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council funded PhD programme. The YBDTP is led by the University of Leeds and supports discovery-driven research in the biological sciences across Yorkshire.

Discovery Medicine North (DiMeN) partnership

The DiMeN partnership trains the next generation of researchers to tackle the major health problems facing the population. Research areas include Infection and Global Health, Cancer, Multimorbidity, Frailty and Diseases of Ageing and Medical Technologies, Informatics and Quantitative approaches.

Yorkshire Environmental Sciences Doctoral training Network

The Yorkshire Environmental Sciences Doctoral Training Network (YES-DTN) is a partnership between the University of Leeds, the University of York, the National Centre for Atmospheric Science and a wide range of industry, charity and governmental partners. YES-DTN provides PhD training across a wide range of the science remit of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).

Cheney 4-year PhD Scheme in in situ structural biology

Exciting new developments in imaging and structural methods, known as in situ structural biology, can reveal the structure and behaviour of biological macromolecules inside healthy and diseased cells and tissues. The pioneering Cheney Scholarship 4-year PhD programme at the University of Leeds will train the next generation of researchers and exploit these new developments across a broad range of research areas with a great potential for translation.

China Scholarship Council Scholarships for PhD study

China Scholarship Council – University of Leeds Scholarships are available for citizens and permanent residents of the People’s Republic of China for PhD research study at the University of Leeds.

Leeds Doctoral Scholarships are available for home fee-rated students. 

Leeds Opportunities Research Scholarships

The Leeds Opportunity Research Scholarships scheme is for UK Black, Asian and other minoritised ethnic groups to undertake PhD research within any faculty.

International applicants who are self-funded or have their own scholarships

Applications are welcome from self-funded applicants and those who have their own scholarships. More information for international postgraduate researchers can be found here.
